A Night of Brooklyn Brujeria // 2018

DUMBO ARCHWAY, BROOKLYN nY

On September 20th, 2018, we gathered beneath the Dumbo Archway for #ANightofBrooklynBrujeria. The evening was intended to honor the strength and resilience of Puerto Rico, Puerto Ricans, and power of joy as an act of resistance as we marked one year since the devastation of Hurricane Maria and outrageous response from the U.S. government that followed.

The evening featured Christian Martir, DJ Bembona; Trezure Empire, the Dock St. School Choir, and Bombazo Dance Co,; a photo exhibition by Ojos Nebulosos, the final edition of Chiquita Brujita’s #altarsaloscanarios flower installation, Tarot Readers, Bien Conectao Dominoes, a Magic Makers Market, and a closing howl led by Liana Naima.

All photos by Mario Rubén for Brooklyn Brujeria.
